  3. I don't remember how old I was but it was the early '90s so I couldn't have been too old but at Thanksgiving that year I got a wish for winning the wishbone challenge and wished for a Sega Genesis. I don't know how or why because I don't recall bugging my parents about it but regardless come Christmas morning I had a Genesis under the tree complete with Sonic 2, still one of my favorite games.

  5. Parents told me they had rented the NES they bought me for Christmas and let me play it for awhile before saying they "took it back", they barely waited until Christmas Eve to give it back to me so that we could keep playing Super Mario Bros. Definitely one of my favorite Christmas memories as well as gifts.

  10. I'll never forget the awe and amazement of getting the game PONG! I had no idea it was even possible to control anything on the television screen; I was absolutely blown away. From that day on, my life has never been quite the same.

  13. The toy I remember being most stoked about getting as a kid was the "Terminator 2 Bio-Flesh Regenerator Kit". With the kit you could cast a silver, plastic exoskeleton in this flesh-colored gelatin, and then peel certain pieces away. It was the coolest. I recall spilling the pink pre-mixed powder on my Aunt's fancy, cream-colored carpet -- I almost shit.

I also liked all the "Dr. Dreadful" gross food kits. I guess I just liked making a mess.

  16. It From the Pit. The commercials were awesome. The game was actually horrible gameplay wise. Much like Mousetrap it was more schtick than game. But who wouldn't want to play an adventurer in a jungle swamp avoiding a giant monster from pulling you into the murky depths!

  17. it's easy to pick the GI Joes or Transformers but I think the year we got an Atari 2600 was pretty special. I played that sucker every chance I got. Now that I've dated myself I think I'll leave :)
