Monster Mania 22 Highlights . . .

Another Monster Mania in the bag and while I came home with less coolness from the Dealer's Rooms then I usually do, I still managed to have maybe the best time at a Convention in recent memory thanks to some Amazing Friends I have meet over the past few years! Rather then a recap of this past weekend's events, here are some highlights and pictures from Monster Mania 22!

Class of 1984 (30 Years Later!)

Mark L. Lester's "Class of 1984" has long been my favorite movie ever made and since it was Released 30 Years ago today
I remember the first time I saw "Class of 1984" on Channel 48 WGTW-TV (Good TV to Watch) back in the early 90s . . .
Even though it was cut to shreds since it was on regular TV, It served as my introduction into violent exploitation cinema and soon would become one of those movies I rent numerous times at the video store!
I always felt this movie was way ahead of it's time, underrated, and is right up there with "A Clockwork Orange" in terms of showing a society overrunned by young but very violent sociopaths . . .

Since it hits the Big 30 today, I figured why not do a Poster, Shirts, and Home Video Gallery in Honor of that Milestone!

The SMF Horror Six Pack #1 (A Collection of Horror Themed Beers!)

I first become aware of Frank Browning's art in the last couple months from his past work on numerous Blogs and Facebook pages I frequent.
For Freddy In Space he brought back The Fright Flicks Trading Cards , he made all the cool banners for Robocop's Sad Side's "Slaterocalypse Week" , and when Doctor Terrors Blog of Horrors had their famed "Italian Horror Week" Frank was highly involved in that also!

When I posted this collection of Awesome Beers Labels on the BLog a few months back it got me thinking how cool it would be if there were a line of Horror Themed Beers or what kind of Beers the fictional Towns in are favorite Horror Series would drink! After seeing Frank's work I knew he was my goto Guy for this endeavor and after messaging him some possible names &  ideas here's the Awesomeness he came up with for the very first SMF Horror Six Pack!

First up is a beer Inspired by the movie "Pumpkinhead" is a Pumpkin Ale that you can only find at Ed Harley's General Store!

This next beer might be the most unsafest to drink on the list, inspired by the Cult Classic "The Toxic Avenger", we bring you Troma's Toxic Brew!

The third beer comes from the town of Haddonfield and is best enjoyed around the "Halloween" season!

Our forth beer is a real Nightmare and is brewed by a man named Fred Krueger in a boiler room located in Springwood, Ohio!

This fifth beer is "Sam's Select" and was inspired by the criminally underrated movie "Trick 'r Treart"!
Follow Sam's Rule and he might just let you have a second one!

And rounding out the very first SMF Horror Six Pack is a lager from Friday the 13th's Crystal Lake!
Drink for Mommy, Jason!

And as an added bonus, here is a shout out to "They Live"  . . .
This Is You God!

Frank thanks again for pulling all this off,
you combined two of my favorite things in the world Beer and Horror Movie to Perfection!

I wish I could reach into the Shit Movie Fest Cooler and pull anyone of these Bad Boys out!
Hell I'd even share one with our Zuni Cooler Guard!

To see more of Frank Browning's Work please click HERE, and since the feedback to these bottle was so positive, he and I will be working follow up next month!

Poltergeist Poster Give-A-Way!

Last night at The Colonial Theatre I had the pleasure of seeing Poltergeist one of my favorite horror films of all time in 35mm. At most of these screenings at the Colonial there is usually a poster made specifically for the event, with last night's poster being handled by local artist JD Korejko.
JD who also did the Elm Street 4 & 5 poster give-a-way we did a month or so back, and as you can see below hit one out of the park once again!
The idea of reversing the hands on the other side of the television is a really interesting idea since usually we always see Carol Anne staring at the TV from the outside!

Ok So Here's All You Have All You Have To Do Enter For This Give-A-Way, Post Below In The Board's Comment Section (Not The SMF FacePage Please) and Say What Your Favorite Scene is from the Poltergeist Trilogy. While 2 and 3 are nowhere near as good as one, I grew up on them and enjoy some of the creepy moments provided by "Kane"!

The Deadline for this Give-A-Way is Midnight August 20th
so have your entry in by then and please also include your Email Address in your Comment so I can reach you if "This House Is Clean"!
All entries will be given a Number and a Winner will be picked out using the Quick Random Number Generator on my phone, so best of luck and thanks playing!

PS we are also running this Contest up to August 23rd for a Limited Edition "Hellraiser" Print!
You can Enter to Win That by following this link below:

Total Recall: Get Your Ass To Mars Edition

Well actually it's called the "Mind-Bending Edition", but for a mere $8 dollars Thursday I picked up this Total Recall Blu-ray and already watched it twice since!

I had the Audio Commentary with Arnold Schwarzenegger & Paul Verhoeven on the second time around, besides the Stunning picture quality that feature alone was worth owning this disk!

It's been a good while since I last watched Recall & I gotta say it was nice to get my ass back to Mars, laugh at/with Schwarzenegger, and see the 3 Boobs Chick in HD!

But I also forgotten how much I loved the Johnny Cabs, the little person hooker, the turncoat Benny with his 4 or 5 kids, and the totally badass Michael Ironside!

I know most of you aren't going to be seeing the remake of Total Recall this weekend (myself included), but I highly recommend visiting the future by visiting the past and support this new Blu-ray release!
