Before working on my recap of Chiller's Fall Expo I wanted to post some pictures from Jay, Steve, and I's visit to Blairstown, New Jersey . . . This is the township that the original "Friday the 13th" was shot!
I met the guys about an hour away from Blairstown Friday morning at a WaWa in Quakertown, Pa. From there we headed right to the Blairstown Diner which was featured in the first Friday as the diner where Steve Christy ate before getting killed!
The exterior of the diner pretty much looks the same with it being more modern inside. We all grabbed cheeseburgers that sadly weren't shaped like hockey masks, and talked some about Chiller and the upcoming Season of Witch that Steve is hosting on Saturday (Nov. 3rd)
After eating we walked around town. Steve has been here before so he acted as a Tour Guide of sorts. We got some looks from the locals because of the pictures we were snapping. But hey, what can you do?
Our final stop was to "Camp Crystal Lake" itself aka "Camp Blood" (Now the Boy Scout camp "No-Be-Bo-Sco"). We only took pictures outside of the camp because the only person scarier than Jason Vorhees would be the Po-Po who arrest people on the spot for trespassing!
If you ever get a chance to make this pilgrimage . . . do it!
It was a blast to be in the town that Crazy Ralph once stood.
